Rick and Morty is a series of American adult animated comedy and science fiction created
Filmography by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for the Adult Swim evening block, shown on channel
Cartoon Network. The series debuted on December 2, 2013 and follows the scientist's dangerous
adventures alcoholic Rick and his grandson Morty, who divides his time between family life and
interdimensional travel. The series originated from an animated parody in the short film Back to
the Future created by Roiland for Channel 101 film festival. Adult Swim approached Harmon about
ideas for a television program, so he and Roiland developed the program based on the short, replacing
the Doc characters with Rick and Marty with Morty. The show revolves around the adventures of family
members Smith, which consists of parents Jerry and Beth, their children Summer and Morty, and Beth's
father, named Rick Sanchez, who lives with them as a guest.

In the episode "Rick Potion No. 9" (S1E6). Morty's attempts to make Jessica fall in love with him don't
work,resulting in a shocking ending in which Rick and his grandson must abandon their infested dimension
forever.

In "Tales from the Citadel", Evil Morty returns as the main antagonist of the episode, winning the
democratic election held by the Citadel. After being elected, he proceeds to murder all Rick in the shadow
council who expressed their opposition to him, becoming the effective dictator of the Citadel.
